For the record. I went with a burst fire. I really like it so far. Done 100 rounds of 5.56, 50 .300win mag, 50 7-08ai. Had to try all different sizes of brass. It all went smooth and set up was easy.

Agreed. I use a a regulator too. I hardly ever have to adjust the flame. On the Burstfire it's speed thing. Just adjust the speed setting to the case your going to anneal.

I temp paint (750F) a couple of trash cases and always get a reference temp with my infrared just to make sure it's set right.

Annie arrived day before yesterday. Annealed hundreds of cases yesterday. 223, 250ai, 257ai, 7ai, 284, 22hornet, 338 RCM, 38 spl, 10mm, 45 acp, and will be doing more today. Love this thing. I call it frankenstein because of the hose on it

How close is your infrared thermometer to the templex?

Actually not very, but then I am using the infrared about 3/8 of an inch below the shoulder. Trying to get a good reading on the neck in the flame doesn't work to well.

The Burstfire is hands free and what I use, it works for me. Under $300 and it has a 4 station prep center. I use a 5 gallon tank and regulator. Templeq to start til I get my reference temp with a welding heat gun to spot check if need to.

I am absolutely sure the $2000 + for the hands free version of the AMP is $ well spent for some folks, & if I had it to spare I might have gotten it. Reardless I have been very happy with my decision.

Do you need another one? I'll sell mine for cheap and you can have a backup.

I use my Burst Fire for my .270 and 30-06 cases then when needed switch to the other red wheel to accept the Magnum cases. heat with a setting between 38 and 43 . Slight straw color on neck and shoulder is visible. If I don't see the color on want on the first two cases, I slow it down to 38 or even 36. Thats it !!. I try to keep it from becoming rocket science.
