What is the total cost of equipment to start neck turning?

So far I've only looked at K&M and the 21st century. This will be for a 25 Creedmoor. The reason will be for a tight chamber. It's on the line where with if everything is just right you don't need to turn. I'm breaking in barrels, & may not have done a perfect job on drying the bore. There was heavy bolt lift. Load light at 41.0 grains H4350 for break in.
I'll be calling K$M & 21st century asap. These days not always easy to get through to businesses. While waiting I would appreciate your cost estimates for the various equipment, your opinion on ease of use, and the consistency of results. Thanks to all for reading and sharing advice/experiences.
Reamer print bore neck diameter = .290
Fired brass neck OD = .28885 - .289
Virgin brass loaded neck OD = .286
This is Peterson brass head stamped 25 CM.
New neck wall as measured = .0125 - .0135

All measurements with Mitutoyo tools, Peterson brass, & 135's. Barrels are the Bartleins with the harder steel. 1 SS & 1 CF. Both M24 w/ 8-7.4 RH twist.

K&M kit with carbide reamer pilot and neck turning cutter set me back about $300.
If reamer print said .290 dia, it should have produced .2896 min neck dia. Your neck clearance with brass is close at .0036 clearance on diameter. If you turn, you only need .0004 on the diameter turned off to be safe.
Wonder if something thicker got loaded, so if you didn't do a large sample, I'd keep looking.
Does a bullet slide into the spent neck easily?

I use the Sinclair neck turning equipment. For the last 40 plus years I have neck turned for 22-250 and 7 mm-08 without any problems. setting up for one caliber will cost less than $100. You will probably need two mandrels for each additional caliber. The tools are available from Brownells.

I use this to skim turn 7rum brass for a rather tight necked chamber... It's currently cheaper than when I bought it in '19

Sounds like you have enough clearance. Reamers have a tolerance and they run on the fat side. Rule of thumb is if you can drop a bullet in a fired case your ok.

Id look at PMA tool and 21st century reloading for turners. Always get a carbide mandrel. Sinclair sells them.

a bullet will slide in, but you can feel it touching. Im thinking that it's real close to being good and that I might not have got it completely dry on the last cleaning. Thanks. It also Peterson which has a little thicker neck.

Thanks, I would only be doing it for this cartridge. I have a heavy & a light barrel cut with same reamer.

Thanks. I can slide a bullet in. It's with the blackjack rev 2 reamer. I believe on the rev 3 they added only .0005 to the neck.

If it's just a hundred or so, mandrel them and send them to me and I'll turn them for you. Other turning tools stink.

There could not be a kinder offer. I love that about our shooting community. This is far to much to let someone do it. I have 300 for one rifle & 200 for the other. I dont have the words to thank you properly for the offer. I appreciate it so much!

You can send your brass to F-Class Products and pay them to turn them for you. That's a service they used to offer anyway, but you could contact them and check into it.

If you just have a few hundred, that will probably be money better spent than getting some inferior turning equipment yourself.
