Why shoot a 6.5x284 or 6.5 PRC when they only have a 5% increase over the 6.5 Creedmoor or .260? An extra 100fps or 150fps makes a difference beyond 500 yards. So basically a 5% increase in velocity?

I just ordered a 6.5-300 Vanguard for $469/shipped & no tax. I can load hot or not so hot, why get something smaller that limits the upper end?
My 6.5-06AI beats the 6.5RPM by 100fps with 140g bullets and fire-formed .25-06 brass, using a 24" barrel.
Anyone planning to get one of the new Weatherby 6.5 RPM? I'm hoping to get one from the first shipment of Mountain Ti. I hope it actually weighs 4.9 pounds like they say.

My Dad just bought a recent lot of Norma 7mmRM brass. He has 10 firings on some of it with a 162gr ELD at 3070fps. I wouldn't say it's that junk.I would be willing to bet as soon as you load that Norma brass to 3200 with a 140, you will also be able to use 209 primers in it, on the second shot.
