window licker

Hello mr. Window! I just installed a NF SHV MOAR F1 on my Tikka T3x LITE in 270 win for 110 VMaxes for coyotes. This is my first FFP turret turning scope that I have ever owned.
I was wondering at what range do you set your zero and do you dial or use your dots for slaying coyotes at distance?
Here in the flatlands of Illinois, I get shots between 250 & 400 yards.
