VSSF Butt Plate Removal ???

I have an older VSSF in 308 win with the thin solid butt plate. I would like to replace it with a Sims or R3 recoil pad however I need to get the old one off without tearing up the stock. Any suggestions.

Freeze it Take the pad off while it is frozen.

IF it is an H S Stock they will be an Stell Plate in there so watch for it .

They are epoxied on, take a cold chisel and carefully work your way around the edge of the hard spacer and stock line, tap it just hard enough to crack the epoxie seam and it will usually pop off about half way around.
