velocity issues

First your chronograph is not known to be one of the best for accuracy in readings. But I can tell you first hand if you move it out to 18' or more you will get better readings. The muzzle blast is shaking the unit among other things.

Jeff

when playing with a traditional style chrono we put it at 100yds and then did the math to figure mv with the bullets bc.

I am going to ask a twist rate question would like all your opinions on it

And your question is....? :)

Use this calc. It is formulated more for non-tipped jacketed lead core bullets. If you get an Sg of 1.1 or better, the bullet should stabilize well enough for paper punching. For hunting, something close to 1.5 would be better. Plastic tipped bullets of same length usually stabilize as well or better with same Sg, in my experience.

This is not the best calc for monometal copper bullets, but, my experience is you probably need an Sg of 1.4 o better for paper punching.
