Here's my 27 Sherman mag...

And 27 SM with 165 matrix next to 270 winchester with 170 Berger.

I'm a huge 270 fan also. It's plenty capable. Is there more 7mm factory support??? Yes... that doesn't sway me. If you want to do a 270-7prc go for it.

Very Nice, A 27 PRC would be great from the 7prc. I'm still waiting for my reamer for my 27-308Ai. I'm building, have everything else, brass is ready, just need to fireform, for the Ai 40*. .277 a good caliber, fun to play with.

What grain of bullet are you going to go with?

I got a good deal on a Bartlein 10 twist,
So I can't go to heavy. 130, 140, and looking at the Badlands small weight and Hammer Bullets. Make a small hot rod.
I'm shooting 119 to 124gr AH. From my
7.08 and 308 at 3400 to 3500fps, I have loads for both shooting .5moa at 200yrd,
3250fps very comfortably. I can't wait to see what a 277 bullets can do from a 308Ai case. Just playing and having fun.

Think it would be a winner! A 170 berger at 3100ish would be something out of that with pretty reasonable recoil

Do that now with standard .270Win, 27", 1:8tw, 5R, 0.290 freebore on 700LA. RL26 gets you there. Topped out 3150-ish. 3075 is accuracy load. 700's long magazine COAL makes it happen.

I would love to see a 27PRC. Its .277 so good to go for me!

I'm still waiting on my reamer. Talked to Manson's 2 weeks ago and they said maybe in 2 to 3 weeks. Going on 5 months for a reamer. O - well 277/308Ai.

My 27 Sherman mag did some work this spring and allowed me to notch my bear tag. A single shot from the 165 matrix at 725 yards ended the fun part of a hunt. Just got a new barrel chambered up in 27 Sherman mag instead of my old rechambered barrel but haven't done anything with it yet.

I think it's a fabulous idea. I debated for awhile but I already use and love the 27 Nosler and before settling down on a 25-7PRC AI between the 270-7PRC AI I decided to just stick with the 27 Nosler that I love!! So much a third is being built. I've got a backorder of 7PRC Peterson brass and I just ordered a Manson reamer and a carbon6 barrel sendero @ 26" and a 1-7" twist for some Berger 133 & 135, Hornday 134 and blackhole bullets 145's.

Reason I went with a 25 caliber instead of a 27 caliber version is because I have two 27 Nosler AND did I mention I LOVE THEM! Jeff Hayes is just finishing up my 3rd. If I didn't have the 27 Nosler I would had built the 270-7PRC but having a 27 Nosler is perfect for my use. It's my first on a tikka platform and I'm going to run a 100 gr hammer, Nosler 90 gr accubond or a 102 gr afterburner (I've had stellar results with those apex bullets) so I'm not worried about COAL. This will be a 600 yard laser beam for hunting and not ringing steel at a mile or any high volume shooting. I could also care less if I get 300-400 rounds off this barrel as I can just buy another one and spin it on. Life is too short to be worried about barrel life, plus I love seeing the pink mist when these bullets hit at over 3000 fps. Good luck brother!!

..277 vs .284 ?? Why bother yourself and your wallet ?? Doesn't seem like tge difference would be worth the effort...
