After 7 years I finally made it to Tassie and met my Brother from another mother which was long over due, I got to wrap my arms around his son's necks ( Fred and Stout who I call my own) who I have watched grow up though phone calls, met my friend Charks and his family, fell in love with his daughter Charlotte, met an amazing gunsmith Alex Beer and we just clicked, I swear I've known him all my life.
Ate some great food, wallaby, peacock, swan, camel sausage, drank some Bundy, had pizza night with Fordy's folks, I felt right at home.
Fordy also had set up to have CBH Australia come down from the mainland so I got meet him as well on this trip and that tickled me to death, he's a really great guy and we had a blast!
The country was beautiful and Fordy's farm is breathtaking and after some sightseeing and getting adjusted to being on the wrong side of the road and the wrong side of the car we got down to business, testing bullets!
First off let me tell you the amount of critters ( wallaby ) is unimaginable, they are everywhere, and I mean everywhere!
We stopped for a drink and talked to a feller that had just ran dogs with 75 shooters and they killed 1400 in 4 hours, Fordy says this is a "Meh" number and I can vouch for that as we went with dogs down on Verdwyn with 5 shooters ( Me driving the truck) and in 3 hours had 46, and it was a slow day.
Kangaroo and Stag by the truckload, so let me tell you when I say Fordy tested a Pill it's been tested, we went wide open for 8 days(morning ,noon and night) testing McGuire, Apex, Raptor and Hammer's and the FFB in various test media covering lots of miles in all kinds of weather and we were both whooped by the end of it but it was well worth it as we gained a ton of info, some good and some bad and some purely junk but that's why we test.
So in the the middle of a big dust up someone said if you don't like a bullet make your own........ so Fordy did, The FFB , Fordy being "Fordy" is working with 4 bullet manufactures in 2 countries with this design to spread to knowledge.
We tested his design in all pills listed above and all showed vast gains (some more than others)
I won't go into a bunch of details as it's Fordy's pill and he's headed to Africa for final testing but I can tell you this,
I saw with my own eyes a text from a world renowned bullet maker that said
" When Fordy sets foot in Africa it will be with the best bullet that's ever been on the continent"
I can't thank Fordy enough for the hospitality and what he does for our community as a whole most folks will never know, he's a gentleman and a scholar and it's my privilege to be able to call a man of that caliber my Brother.
