I know this is blasphemy, especially to my ears, but after buying my lefthanded Hill Country rifle in .300 Win, I could have stopped buying rifles after getting this Thompson Center Icon .308 Win. For almost 20 years, this rifle has shot 4-leaf clover groups at 100 yards with Winchester BST ammo. My son has been using it almost exclusively, taking many nice deer and a Red Deer. Topped with a Riton Optics 1 Primal 4-16X50 and still shooting the Ballistic Silver tips, this range day did not disappoint. When my son gets leave from Germany, he'll be ready. After one incident a decade ago ( thought I had zeroed scope, but I hadn't), he will most certainly put a few rounds downrange before heading into the field.

I forgot all about those Icons, when they first came out I wanted one in 308 with a walnut stock. The first ones had some truly nice wood on them. I really wish T/C would not have been bought by Smith & Wesson and could have stayed in business independently, I always like their products and who know what they would have come out with.

I have one in 22-250 with the Weatherwood it is a great looking rifle and shoots extremely well many groups under 2 inches at 300 yards with cheap Winchester white box bulk ammo.I wish they were still available.
