sub moa accuracy of plain factory rifles stock

nobody said you were on crack because you had a factory gun shoot 1/2 moa. It was your statement that all of your factory guns do it that showed ya like the pipe to me.
Both of my factory guns shoot sub groups. If they didn't I would sell them.
If you only knew how I feel about drugs, you wouldn't type that crap....

Ha ha ok maybe you are confusing my posts with somebody elses im trying to relay the fact of people having pride issues because it was brought up on both ends of the scale. you use half truths of the tongue to attack my statements like im the crazy ignorant rant guy.I am not the best at grammer but thats ok I hope I can relay stuff well enough I am typing on my phones keyboard which sucks either way.I guesse im confused about all the effort to say it wont work cant do it like im lying about it either way your welcome to your opinion

Mudd runner have you tried shooting those guns before truing them with reloads. The reason I ask is im wondering if that would increase my powder charge range for some guns giving a wider range of reloads possible for same gun as I havent done that with factory guns yet.

No, most of them were factory guns I pulled the sporter barrels off of, and used other factory Sendero barrels, and aftermarket, or old HS Precision Sendero stocks. A couple of them started life as just actions, and I pieced them all together from there. None of the 5 "customs" have their original factory barrel on them. They all have factory Remington barrels, but not the ones that came screwed onto those particular actions from the factory.

The only factory rifles that I have that are untouched is two 5R Milspecs (.308 & .300WM), and my original Sendero SF 7mm STW that I bought new back in 02. I haven't shot the new 5R .300WM, so I don't know how it's going to perform yet, but the reason I haven't reworked my SF 7mmSTW or 5R .308 Win, is because they just shoot entirely too good to go tinkering with them. The 5R .308 shoots .2" to .3" groups with handloads on average, and the 7mm STW shoots around +/- 1/2" 5-shot groups. Sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less.

are you basing your opinion on TWO GUNS?????? Mine is based on owning at least 50 factory rifles through the years and id bet a dime to a donut theres some here that would consider even that have owned substantially more then that.

What works in one, most likely won't work as well in another. Because each gun is unique and individual. My max loads might be too much for your rifle to handle, so I don't like to discuss what my rifles like, I also like to push them pretty hard. The only time I discuss load charges is if it's a load I know is not going to be overpressure.

Yea just two guns, what does that have to do with anything? All I need is two guns,
Your saying I'm on crack because I have two good shooting guns. I'm done with this. Your opinion does not matter to me.

Just to clarify (i have no dog in this fight) it is a small sample size which does not represent the group as a whole. Scientifically speaking your sample size of 2 guns is considered insignificant.

Agreed mud runner it could be totaly different gun to gun I was just getting a load range idea from it not to base entirely off of what you use as it can vary from a low range to a wide range in same guns.

now you went and hurt my feelings. If I had experience in loading and shoot only two different rifles I think id be doing a lot more listening to opinions then giving them. Ive been shooting and loading for over 40 years and could buy a new truck for what I have in loading gear and even I learn a lot here.

Ive done it with more than 2 rifles if you want to bring up bieng scientificaly sound as if its the rarest thing to happen but I suspect I should just try to stop feeding your fire by responding because your going to just continue on your path. With that being said how about other factory rifle nice groups /shooters and customs lets not be biased for paper groups specificaly speaking.

Ok over the years I have bought alot of savages remington and howas in bolt action I have loaded them with the rite combo and always got submoa groups no problem shot them just as good as a 5000 dollar rig I know people dont like to hear it but its true granted a 5000 dollar rig is easier to take shooter error out of the equation I admit but if you do everyrhing the same on the way you hold rifle pressure you hold the rifle with its sweet load they all have shot sub moa easily for me anybody have same results granted i think 5000 dollar rig equals way more solid platform to deal with.

midwest you are the one that mentioned 5000 custom rifles. your factory rifles that shoot submoa include a howa heavy barrel and what ........? i have quite few factory rilfes that shoot sub moa at 100 yards. some easily, some a lot of blood sweat and tears. some never make it.

Sir, you said you had 2 factory rifles...etc. You however did not say "over the 40 years I have X number of factory rifles..." No one can account for your experience or experiences except you. And anyone can type anything.. heck I have a red rider bb gun that was runned over by my pappi in 47'... she has a bent barrel and a broken front sight but she's a shooter.. shoots 1/8" all day out to 600yds.. yee haw! Kilt my first cape buffalo with it back in Indiana. High shouldered it, bang flop, I TELL YOU HWHAT!

I have a handful of sub moa factory rifles. I also have a few customs that are sup 0.25moa. MOA becomes less of an achievement when you're capable of far better. The only excitement a MOA gun has is the fact that there just might be a load out there that prints better groups and you haven't found it yet.

ohio - (hope this in not offtopic) I just wish i had found the "magic" of krieger years ago. (read yer quarter minute guns). sure i would have missed out on the excitment of FINDING that one moa load out there you mention. having a couple .25" rifles, i feel i would been just fine without eperiencing that excitement. aggree?
