Straight 284 win ??

I'm looking to get some info about 284 win is it worth building another 7mm rem mag I've read a few reviews but that's all I know about it I will be using a long action and planing to use 162-168 gr bullets any and. All info on this cartridge would be helpful it will be for 500 yard target and hunting deer / hog / antelope out to 500 ish yards possibly further if capable

I love my 284 win, shooting the 162 amax at 2860 fps, at .3 MOA. My little brother shot his doe at 560 yards, i shot my buck at 520 yards, i shot an antelope buck at 330 yards and a bull elk at 245 yards (that on was with the 168 Barnes LRX.) this year. And we have two late season cow tags left. I have a mini magnum muscle brake and the rifle weighs about 8-9 lbs and recoil is EXTREMELY mild.

Must be a pretty good friend that let you use his E-Mail. I assume Lonestar was one posting and since we can look at prior post from members my question was directed to Lonestar and not you.

He is a a good friend closest thing to family I've got I was just wanting to hear what other peoples thoughts are who have been using this round because he has not had first hand experience yet not no harm no fal we didn't know how to look up old post Semper Fi

Straight 284 is an awesome cartridge. It performs pretty well.

Straight 284 or 284 Imp (Shehane) will be my next project.

Doesn't kick hard compared to 7mmRM.
