Complete de-reg of suppressors and NO FFL required! They will be treated just like any other firearm accessory! You could order them online and have them sent to your house! :D

Call or email your senators and let's get this thing passed!!!

would be great, But with Leg, Branch is not going to make a move on anything. It will take 6-18 months to get anything done.
That is if the have the balls to do something.

And you really think that the ATF is going to stand by quietly and give away millions of dollars in tax revenue?

Not likely.

In order to reach "millions" of revenue for ATF from Suppressor license there would have to be annual Suppressor sales of 10,000 unites. Maybe there are that many but I'm not so sure.

jfseaman,

I'm not going to research a complete synopsis of the suppressor sales in the U.S. However, I will quote from just two article regarding some numbers from just one company and a national observance and from 2015 at that:

In this article, Gun Watch Editor Dean Weingarten interviews SilencerCo Founder/CEO Josh Waldron. Started in 2008, SilencerCo is an amazing success story. The company now sells (2015) 18,000 silencers a month. To put that in perspective, a decade ago, the entire domestic suppressor industry was selling 18,000 suppressors a YEAR. SilencerCo now controls 65% of the suppressor market in the USA, and its business is growing 100% a year.

And from 2013 published in 2014:

All told, nearly half a million silencers were sold in 2013, CNN reports, with no signs of the trend declining. A company called Silencero has created a website—SilencersAreLegal.comto help people find out where those devices can be purchased. As Silencero writes, gun silencers have a number of benefits, including preserving a person's hearing if the weapon is fired in close quarters, improving accuracy and "saving lives." Plus, the website points out, it's just your right.

Some simple calculations offer a dollar figure of $100,000,000 (100 million) for just the year 2013.

Given 18,000 suppressors manufactured for a single month yield, 216,000 per that year and a potential of $43,200,000 (43.2 million) in tax revenue if every suppressor was registered.

Regards.

Here are the number of Form 4's by year that the ATF processed.

2016 2,538,397
2015 1,426,211
2014 1,383,677
2013 1,152,163
2012 1,112,041
2011 992,975

Then you need to add Form 1's to get a total revenue that the NFA branch generates from the $200 tax.

FYI.
in 2012 $$222,408,200 a lone.

numbers are from ATF Data.
