Adding a suppressor accuracy affect?

We are using cans on several AR's with thermal and conventional scopes. I have a custom 6.5 PRC with brake that shoots better than I can. This would be the first suppressor on a bolt action rifle. Looking for thoughts on changes in accuracy especially with the handload I developed for the gun. Any input will be appreciated! Thanks

Won't anffect accuracy but they do change POI.

Almost all I shoot is suppressed, across 17 of my 20 rifles.
I can say they all shoot every bit as good as I can.
I can send you photo after photo of groups shot with suppressors.

I've got 6 suppressors that I shoot in a number of different guns. I've not noticed a significant change in accuracy for suppressed vs unsuppressed. Most of my guns also have minimal, if any, change in POI w/ suppressed compared to unsuppressed.

Real world experience with a bunch of suppressed precision bolt guns including several 6.5 PRC customs

90% of the time POI shifts 1–2 MOA usually up & right and groups actually tighten a little once the can settles in better barrel harmonics

First 15–20 rounds the groups can wander a hair while the can breaks in and carbon builds evenly. After that it's normally same or slightly better than bare brake.

Your handload tuned to the brake will almost always still shoot great just rezero and you're done. Worst I've seen is needing to tweak seating depth 0.005–0.010" to get it back to stupid small.

Temp stability gets better suppressed cooler barrel, so your load usually loves it.

Bottom line: slap the can on, shoot a 20 round fouling/zero string, make a tiny tweak if needed. You'll be back to ringing steel at 1000 with no drama. Most guys end up liking it better suppressed.

Before I got my .30 cal suppressor, I was shooting factory ammo and it never would group too good but acceptable for the game and ranges I used it for.
Was preparing for a trip to AK so decided I could reload for it and get it to group tighter and that's what I did.
Then the day came that I got my .30 cal suppressor and then found my reloads didn't group nearly as well as they did without the suppressor and factory ammo shot even better than my reloads did.
All about harmonics. Adding a suppressor changes things. Sometimes not much, other times very noticeable difference.

6 Dasher. Accuracy is the same with or without Dead Air RXD30Ti, just a 2 inch POI shift. 5 shots @ 100 yards.

I shoot a 30 cal can on my 6.5 PRC , so I can use it on other rifles. The most popular can are the 6"-7" titanium models. There a bunch to choose from . Take a look at Thunder Beast, Dead Air Nomad, Diligent Defense Enticer , etc.

I disagree with most previous comments. Adding a suppressor does change accuracy for a given load. It may be better or it may be worse. Adding that weight to the end of the barrel definitely affects barrel harmonics.

It's best to just decide if you wanna suppress or not (you should) and zero with the can on.

I use dedicated cans for this reason with all my rifles

I'm getting close to the same setup. Dedicated cans make life easy, just more expensive. You won't miss shooting unsuppressed.

Its almost guaranteed you'll have some impact shift although i have one gun/can combo without any. As far as accuracy its a case by case basis. All of my rifles were either unchanged or accuracy was improved with a can.
