AJ, are you using the Savage as a trainer? If so, I like the way you roll.gun)

My latest gun.

Rem 700 police 338 Lapua Magnum.
Aics 1.5
LW barrel, 32" and 1.10" at the muzzle
scope is a Millett LRS-1 6-25x56
Brake from Vektor
Silencer from Hausken

Have only shot about 130 shots with since I got a week ago, but it groups well. I measured these two 5 shot groups to be 19 and 15mm from edge to edge. I guess center center would be less than 10mm at 100 meters.

I will apply Duracote later this winter, when I get the time.

I also have a Tikka M695
Caliber is 6.5x65 RWS
Krieger barrel, 30" long
Riflestock is unknown to me

This rifle sends a 140 grs Accubond out at 3372 ft/s
I have shot almost 300 deer with it, 23 this season.

It groups well with everything it out in to it, Bergers and Accubonds are best.

It has a Zeiss 6-24x72 and a brake from Vektor and silencer from Hausken

All I can say is Awesome!

How much would you have to spend it get in to a nice semi custom rig? Ballpark?

Thank you!

the $$ really depends on you. If you do some leg work the cost can be reduced while you round up the parts. Otherwise you can just order new...Still a wait time of course. The A5 MCM stock took 7 months to receive.

You can build a semi-custom (called that because it still uses a trued factory action) from $1500 up past $3000. Things like bolt fluting, barrel fluting, break, cerakote, triggers, and super pricey stocks add up quick.

ULTRA LIGHT ARMS model 20S in 25X47 topped with a leupold 2.5x8 with the boone and crocket reticle . this set up is only 5 lbs 1.5 oz. complete with scope and sling.
my longest shot to date is 448 on a tahr in new zealand
this little round it shoots just works so well on these shot under 500
no recoil easy to load which would make it very nice for youth and woman but it has 1 problem here in the USA it does not have super duper mag in its name. to bad cuz it works like lighting.

My training wheel rifle cost $1385 for the rifle. thats with a Mcmillan stock. started about the first of July. Finished off November 22. Obviously you could spend a LOT more, also you could spend a little less. If you use a savage action(which i don't care for) or a Remmy action(which i love) it'd be cheaper. Also check out an unplugged article on www.realguns.com about him building a custom remington with only hand tools....pretty neat stuff....

I couldn't resist posting.
6mm Ackley Improved.
Stiller action, right bolt, left port.
Bartlein 1-8 varmint weight barrel.
Timmney trigger.
Nightforce 3.5-15 MLR
All machine work was done by Dean Parker from Wellsville, Utah.
It shoots high teens-low 20s. It gives me a tear of joy each time I stroke the trigger.

Here's my Defensive Edge Canyon rifle.
338 Edge.
Nightforce 5.5x22 NP-R2
This is the gun I've spent the most time with lately. It's killed two black bear in Alaska and one muley in Idaho plus it's turned many, many rocks into gravel.

LRSickle, that stock you're asking about looks a lot like the stocks offered by D&L Sports (Dave Lauck) here in Gillette, Wy. Dave has been offering these for years, but I don't know if he makes them or buys them...
