At the range.

this group is at 120 yards the dropped shot is a call flier i was trying and not having much success to fire between heartbeats. The group is actually three shots. Best group out of this rifle was at 172 yards and measured 7/8 across and fit completely under my thumb. Barrel is shot out and i have another one waiting to go on. I Really really really want to build a .338 LM on a stiller action AI stock Krieger tube (I love their tubes i have never heard of or seen one of their tubes not shoot sub MOA in a bolt gun). I'm thinking US Optics Sn3 not sure the s&b will server me better for the extra coin. my NF is serving me just fine but I plan to shoot well past 1500 meters so might try to get some better image clarity to spot my own shots.

I love the wood stocks man. Nothing prettier than an old fashioned stainless rem 700 with a wood stock.

I am thinking on a "Budget" build in .308 on a rem action with a wood stock and a quality button rifle tube. Nothing fancy trigger job, pillar bedded. Have the action trued which in my experience most of the top smiths will do when they install the tube anyways. I have seen so many bone stock rem and savage and tikka rifle shoot sub MOA with hand loads I think an excellent short/med range rifle can be had for sub 1K including optics.

Kirby built these two. 7mmAM on the left and 270AM on the right

I'm wondering about the swirl on the stock on the right. It looks like a mcmillan? What's the percentage and colors? I ordered a stock in 50% black, 25% grey, and 25% light grey and think it should turn out like these in this pic. If u could let me know. Thanks in advance.

Here is mine. It's a Rem. Sportsman 78 action, 28" Mt. Rifle barrel in 6.5-06AI. Laminate stock, lightly bedded. Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14 Mil-dot that I absolutely love. Factory trigger down to about 1#. Blackhawk stock pack. 10" twist barrel shoots 100 ballistic tips into 1/2" at 3550fps. 20.25 moa drop at 1000 yds. Got lucky, the scope, when zeroed at 100, has 40min. adjustment left, so it is just right with a standard base. My first big stick, I am absolutely in love with it!. I now have a point and click! Now I don't have an excuse, just have to learn the wind.

I have a similar color pattern on a McMillan and the colors are 60% gray, 30% black, and 10% white. Mine has a bit less white than the ones in the picture, but it's similar.
