Should we start to boycot these high prices?

You can boycott all you want but current retail prices are what they are and they aren't going back down anytime soon. These just are the new normal prices sucks but true. I wish 8lbers we're still under 200 and primers were 34$ a brick, but that's over. Have you priced new vehicles lately? Four wheelers? Groceries? Steel? I'm in manufacturing a piece of steel we could buy for 15$ 18 months ago is hovering around 45$ right now. I also farm have you seen fertilizer prices? Chemical prices? Depending on what lense you view it through reloading prices haven't gone up as much as they could have....

Something else to consider is that many of our favorite reloading products are made in other countries where COVID rules really went off the deep end. How many powders are manufactured outside the US, I don't know the exact answer I just know it's a lot.

Local small LGS 8lber i bought week ago, you tell me who's getting rich, gouging and about inflation. He's got a margin he works on and its not 50-100%
The same 8lber 8 months ago was 292.00 if my math is correct thats about 5% more

I certainly won't pay what I believe to be high (let alone "extortionate") prices on a thing. It's not in me, really. I suppose one could call that "boycotting."

I seek quality, at a price I'm comfortable with. I figure most people do that.

That being said, a given seller has every right to sell something at a given price. Beauty of a transaction is: it's a mutual effort; can't be sold unless there's a buyer fully willing to pay that price. For those two at that time, both are content. And that's as it should be.

I don't like the ammo prices any more than I like the gas prices, but I can't just stop buying gas, I need it to maintain my job and my property. Perhaps I look at shooting differently than some, but I see shooting as a perishable skill, and if I have to pay more to maintain that skill then I'm going to. Naturally I'm not running through as many rounds at the range, and I'm shooting small calibers more than large, but if I get into a pinch and HAVE to pay GB prices then I guess I'll sleep in the bed I made.

Any other attitude is the inroad to socialism.

I think the socialistic leanings of this administration has a lot to do with this.

Prices are going to rise regardless, however the threat of loss of certain rights has caused many to come to this "fun" we have enjoyed for years. It was already strained due to the "lack of people to build things" what ever that was, that we did to ourselves. Now they say they are trying to recover from a hole they allowed themselves to be put in on their own.

I'm am wondering if I (we) should start to boycot these companies that are bending us over, charging these extortionate prices on reloading supplies. This high price greed is not ok. They are praying on the pandemic pricing craze. There is no way that their raw materials have gone up that much to warrant these high prices. Maybe we need to just say "enough of this crap. Stuff your prices!"

I was following some die. $67 everywhere. I finally decided to purchase the gun and midway was the only place that still has the die. $97 or $99. Along with other items, I'm done with ever ordering from them again. They've done the same thing with some bullets. I waited a month and found them elsewhere 30% less. I used to spend a few thousand $/year there. No more.

Yeah, people can try to ask any fool and charge any fool price they wish. But Gun br....er is supporting plain out and out theft and should be shut down. IMHO. I'm not that desperate.
Theft??? There are numerous books on economics at your local library. When you read them you will see a lot of talk about "supply and demand", that's an important concept...you can not be part of the demand, that is your choice, but your theory about gunbroker supporting theft is like saying Zillow does the same thing with housing prices. Come on, man...

Well since the powder and primer companies are raking in cash hand over fist. Why don't you start your own powder/primer company and charge normal prices? Show those companies how it's easy to keep cost down!
Why should I, its easy dont by from the gougers see post #32

I have a better idea. You start a business and we'll buy from you because you can make similar products for half the price.
