Short barreled 6.5 Creedmoor build

Christensen Custom 300 RUM Left,
Mesa Precision Arms 6.5 Creedmoor Right

Both sourced from LRHF, both are tack drivers! Shot the RUM yesterday with hand loads from the Rifle Guru & put 3 shots in 1 hole at 200 yards. Punched holes in 1/2" steel plates at 250 & 300 yards. 6.5 shot well too…sub 1/2" at 200 yards…time to go chase spring bruins 🐻

I have a 15" 6.5 Creedmoor. With a moderate charge of StaBall 6.5 and 140 grain bullets I'm in the upper 2500s with enough velocity to expand just about any hunting bullet and a comfortable amount of energy past 400.

I tried 120s too, but found the 140s were a better fit. They're a bit slower and don't shoot quite as flat but do better with wind and retain more energy.

I have a 18" Bergara barrel with 7" ultra TB can in 6.5 CM. With Fed factory 135gr Bergers I get 2770 fps. I cannot come up with a HL that will get these speeds about 2725 I get pressure with ever powder I tried. So I bought every box of that lot I could find, 22 of them. I get no pressure signs with this factory load and .6 moa. Sure wish I knew what powder or blend they used. I personally dont like chassis for hunting guns, nor hang out the bottom mags.

make sure to speed up the twist to accommodate the velocity loss for gyroscopic stability.
