I just picked up a Savage Model 10 .308 for my son. Got a good deal on it and thought it would be a good starter gun for him and he could build on it.

I can't figure out the barrel twist on this rifle. The model on the barrel just says Model 10. If I go to Savage's web page the model 10s all have letters after the 10 to indicate the model. So I'm not sure.

It does not have an accutrigger, and the barrel is a 24" heavy barrel. The stock is black plastic with the barrel floated.

Can anyone identify the model/ barrel twist with this information?

It is a model 10fp 24" 1in 10" twist, should have a redessed 90 degree crown and measure .825-.845" at the muzzle.
