Sad Week

Our house goes up for sale in a couple weeks and new one wont be built until the end of september. Shutting down all reloading until we are moved in. The boxing has begun and sizing the last brass from this weeks range trip. After that, All I have is groundhog hunting and MAYBE deer hunting in the fall.

I'll be in here for my sanity checks.

Packed all mine up 2 weeks ago. Was told there can't be any gun paraphernalia in the house for pics and showings. I will be in my new place middle of April and I feel ya! Going through withdrawals. I've actually walked into my reloading room a couple times now not thinking and been disappointed!

The new house in in a long line of production and the schedule is what it is. The sellers market is hot in our area now but expected to taper off soon. The nearby military base is building huge new buildings to spy on us which means thousands of new people coming into the area. Also, my parents are 90 and I need to be closer to them. So a number of things affecting the whole picture.

I am kind in the same boat. Most of my reloading equipment is in Montana, or packed up, and I am here in Mexico-North. I've been purchasing high end equipment, and the seller are asking me how does it work or what do you think. I tell them I don't know. It has them wondering. My youngest son is wondering too. Things keep showing up at his home or office. The one nice thing is no sale tax in Montana. I GOT TO QUICT READING HERE. IT'S COSTING ME MONEY. HA! HA!

I feel ya. In the past 30 years I have had 4 relocations, 3 long distance. Step 1 is to always disassemble the gun/reloading room and get everything off site for the reasons mentioned. I estimate each relo takes 3 years to get back to "normal", not only set up of the room but finding new clubs, new carry permits and of course the time to enjoy my hobby with all the time needed to get moved in to the other parts of a new house. In a few of these I had to practically give away all powder, primers, lubes, cleaning solvents, etc as movers would not take them. Can't imagine having to do that with all of today's shortages preventing restocking. I turned down a great job offer a few years ago just because I did not want to go through this again. Fingers crossed I won't have to for some time to come.

Sounds like me when my house was being built 25 yrs.agnly they were always lare with excuses. We had to live in my mother in laws house for 7 MONTHS...

Hahahaha. Visited a old roommate/best friend in a big town the other day and he had a sign on his door "REALTORS STAY OFF PROPERTY". First thing I said when he opened the door.......Hey jerk can I come in I'm not a realtor. He said they constantly are knocking and harassing them to sell. When we walked out to leave there were two parasites walking up on his porch. He very brusquely asked....If you cant read how can you sell a house? They scurried off like scared mice.

I really feel for anyone moving. I did it about six years ago. I still find myself looking through boxes to locate items I know I had. Best of luck in your move.

I just went through this. Building my new house took way longer because covid.
I did all my reloading at my brothers 3 hours away. He moved to Texas so that was out of the picture first room down was my reloading. Worst parts was buying all new reloading supplies. Bad time for that but I'm getting a stock of things now.
Juts picked up 8lbs varget and a brick of cci250's today.
