Hey all! My Dad has a single pound of RL-19 that he has had for a few years and wants to find a use for it in his .30-06 deer rifles so he can get rid of it. He will be shooting 168gr A-MAXs out of a Remington 700 ADL and a sporterized 03A3 Springfield. Just looking to see if anyone has a good load that they have used with either the 168 A-MAXs or a similar 168gr slug. His shots will be at normal ranges around here which run from point blank out to 200yds, so nothing long range. Thanks.

I've used rl22 in a 30-06 with 180's and it was a good load; I'd think that rl19 would be great too in a '06 with 165 gr. or heavier bullets. Alliant shows 61 as top with a 168 and 59 as top with a 180 for rl19 in the '06. Their velocities seem a bit lower than I've seen elsewhere; they may have a bit of a slow barrel.

I looked at Alliant's site and saw their loads on there and they looked to be slow compared to what I have seen before too. We will probably just start where they started and go from there. Thanks
