I am having a rebarrel done on my Rem 700 to 6.5 PRC. I downloaded the reloading data from the Hodgdon website. The problem I'm finding is that every powder on their list is listed as "not in stock " everywhere I look. RL 19 is in stock everywhere and I have this on hand as I use it for my 270 WSM. Has anyone tried Rl 19 on their 6.5 PRC, and if so, what's a good starting load?

H1000 has been great in two 6.5 PRC's I load for. Only other powder I would try is RL26. I think it's worth waiting for H1000 to become available. Maybe somebody on the forum who lives near you would sell a pound.....
I just used it in my rifle to shoot it to 1060 yards.

RL19 will work just fine start at 52.0 and work up with 140 class bullets. just remember that is not the best powder for temp sensitively. you might want to try RL23 if you can locate some. I use RL16 with the 140 class and lighter bullets. to many of the slow powders are to slow to reach the best operating pressure and have to be compressed or don't burn cleanly. by switching to faster powders I have gotten cleaner powder burn and stopped having carbon ring problems

Beside being temperature sensitive I found it hard to light. Using 51 gr in a 6.5 Rem mag I got hang fires using CCI BR2s and regular CCI LR primers. Had to switch to CCI magnums to get consistency.
previously used BR2 in my 7 mm RM with a max charge of AA3100 with great results.
