There's not a "temp insensitive" powder made that not going to show at least 50fps between 5-90F. In fact I'd be happy with 75F.

Where the temp insensitive powders like the extreme line from Hodgdon benefit is going from 70-110F. They reign in the pressures in high heat. Cold weather not so much stability because it's not the concern.

At 5 degrees I would probably change my sandals and consider putting on long pants... probably.....you are in good hands with your powder you are using!... And I also might put a hoodie over my T-shirt! ...Just me

Not many powders more temp stable than Rl16 and RL23.

I've been using those 2 more than anything else out of my powder cabinet last few years for my hunting calibers

It is wonderful but rare and expensive now.

I run RL23 in lots of them and it's gold in all of them. 7mm saum, 6.5 prc, 30 Nosler, 6mm prc, 6.5 saum, and 300 saum. Can't go wrong with it.

RL23 is available at a few places if you spend the time and look for it and the price has come down some also.

That's 1 of the things I like about rl powders. They burn cool enough while delivering accuracy and velocity that you can actually shoot your rifles a good bit.
I abhor the way they have treated reloaders lately though. I'll have a hard time buying more of their powder. I'm simply not into getting taken for a ride (trying to be nice here as I'd rather not air it out and get banned).

RL23 is a great powder. I use it in several cartridges.

It's been on the shelf at Billings, MT Scheels for the last few months.
