What would be a good way to remove that black tar like selant on pulled military bullets. I'd like to have them cleaned off good before reloading them. Thanks

Just wash them with lacquer thinner and then tumble
if nessary.

I use the ball (FMJ) when hunting pelt animals, bobcats,
coons,coyote's,etc.

The match bullets are ok for breakin or practice but I
have not found any military bullets except factory loaded
match to be very accurate at 200+ yrds.

good luck

one more question

is there a difference between the 30 cal bullets loaded in old 30-06 military ammo? I've pulled both, from the 8 rd clips and from boxes marked match. The bullets appear to be the same. I'll be shooting mostly paper & varmints at mostly under 300 yds. thanks

There could be depending on what designation ( M80,M118,M852
and others)

308(7.62mm) Ball M80 is 149 grs.
3006 (.30 ) Ball M2 is 152 grs.
308(7.62mm) Match M862 is a 168 gr hp bt.
3006 (.30 ) Match M72 is 175 grs.

As you can see you must weigh each bullet and separate
by style ,spitzer, boat tail, hollow point, etc.

There are a lot more types and weights than I have
listed so be carefull and have fun.
