Night Force minimum viewable distance

Curious about how close you can get your Night Force to view a target? I have a 5.5 - 22 x 56 and while on my table I can not get a clear view of the light switch 20 ft away. I am not planning to shoot my light switch, unless the kids continue to leave the lights on. In fact on 5.5 power the parallax adjustment does absolutely nothing. While out shooting and using the higher end of the range the adjustment seems to work fine.

50 ft. I can see the fence fine. Just can't shoot my light switch.
