New "to me" made in Montana monolithic bullets ...

Nope, I know you always put things to the test, and I commend you for your openness in giving them a shot.

I am not sure when I get around it, but I ordered the 168g too to try on my .30 Gibbs.

That's the one that sparked my interest, although .284 flavors would be welcomed too. I'm interested to see what the back cavity does to actual bc numbers. Tipped and copper composition allows for expansion down to 1600 fps, that's interesting. Brings new life into the 308 and 30-06. Very interesting brother.

Good morning everyone! Got my church mouth back on! 😄 😇 I was just having so much fun and got caught up in the evenings entertainment!

@Len Backus - I'm glad the wife didn't wash my mouth out with soap! 😄
@asd9055 The Minie ball! I thought that exact same thing, however as we all know the base was soft lead and would expand to seal the bullet in the barrel.
@FEENIX I do love me some scientific method

Easy Brother, you be nice!
It's not my desire to stir trouble but unfortunately the truth hurts sometimes. This reminds me of a set of verses in the book of Romans 14:1-13.

Rom 14:1-13 KJV 1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. 2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. 3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. 4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. 5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. 7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. 8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. 9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. 10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. 13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

Amen!

Brad,

Then execute it and share the result(s) with the LRH community. There was nothing scientific about your previous comment. Cheers!

Ed
There has been nothing scientific in this entire thread. I don't need to run an experiment to identify propaganda. Hence why later we must test the claims. I don't think skepticism is a bias.

IMO when dealing with hunting bullets the deciding factors for ME is exterior and terminal ballistics. So accurate BC's and terminal performance is all that matter to me. I see nothing out of the ordinary with the terminal performance of these bullets. Science helps predict things but the true measure is field work. BC's can be checked and we see the terminal performance claims. The science would be replicating the field results.

Like creedmoor shooter said the expense makes it hard for ME to buy these. But that 168 that Ed got is very interesting. Expansion down to 1600 fps is very desirable. And for a tipped mono the price really isn't bad. If the BC is confirmed that bullet is very interesting.

If you formulated an opinion before any test as you just did, yes, it is a bias. More often than not, researchers do not know their own biases; this is why independent peer reviews exist in empirical researches. Again, this is not about you and me or our biases. It is an option for those that are open-minded, willing, and able to try.

Yep! I mentioned it in another thread! It is making the circles in the scientific and engineering world now. It can be unintended but there is in inherent bias even in setting up experiments

In the early years of LRH I sometimes refered to this as being Len's Living Room and you all are invited to my home to chat in the presence of me and my wife.

Please behave accordingly if you would like to remain on the invitation list.

Thank you all for coming. Hope to see you again real soon.
Thank you for having us sir! And that is why, a couple of days ago, when someone started calling us names, I used "ignore" instead of get drawn in fight!
