I've got to say when it comes to a rifle if it has a lever I am all in! šŸ˜ŠšŸ˜‰ Cheers
The link to the auction I posted has around 450 guns going up for auction. A lot of old Savage 99s, different calibers, few Marlins, Winchesters. Anyone got any experience with Montana Rifle or specifically one of these ?

Thanks for the head up. I just picked up a Model 1873 Competition Carbine High Grade in 38/357 should be here within the next few days, actually, I bought it to go along with my Colt 1873 4 3/4" barrel 38/357 both being case harden frames. I sold a Win M71 rifle in .348 Win a few years back I would like to pick up another one of those, I smoked a lot of Idaho Deer with that old combo in Winchester Idaho, fun days. Cheers

Interesting rabbit trial you are on, this it the ā€œNew squirrel rifleā€ thread, those don’t fit the criteria for this thread.

That depends upon how you load’m! I used a .308 Win. with cast bullet loads to hunt squirrels for several years!

No different than our forefathers using their .30 cal Kentucky ā€œSquirrel Riflesā€ for same game! memtb

Sorry for hijacking the thread. But I'm still trying to figure out how to start a new thread. I thought I stumbled on it one day. But I seem to have lost the know how again.

Go to "New Post" then "Post Thread" then you have to pick a category. PM me if you need more help
Thanks

Calvin, Nice looking rifle !! I'll bet that stock would look better if you could wash off some of the "Mud" so the grain and stripes stand out more. I 'washed' off my 457 and it's a wholly different gun now.

I have a different theory on mud/dirt coverage…..at least on automobile. I tell my wife tha I don’t wash the car because the layer of dirt protects the Finnish from small rocks and sandblasting when driving šŸ¤” That’s my story and I’m stick’n to it! šŸ˜‰ memtb
