New scope

I am building a 6.5x284 and it should be ready in about 2-3 weeks. The last thing I need for it is a new scope. I have about $1200-$1300 to spend. What scope would you go with?

I'll toss out a few suggestions to get things started:

Lightweight; Swaro Z5 3.5-18 or Vortex RazorHD 3-15

All around; Leupold VX6HD 3-18 or 4-24

FFP; Bushnell LRTS 4.5-18, Tract Toric 4-20

Seekins rail and rings.

I have a trued remington action, proof barrel with vias muzzle brake, Hs stock. Pretty excited to get it back and start shooting.

What style? FFP? Mil? Illum reticle?

Nightforce SHV in the 3-15x50 or the 5x20x56 model sound like what you are looking for.

Ive been looking at those. actually watching reviews on them right now. Have you had any experience with them?

I would watch the classifieds and try to find you a good used NXS 5.5-22x56 or 50 with MOAR. Have seen some good deals on them lately.

I recently found one for $1800 but I cant go quite that high

I would lean towards a variable with high end in the 20X range. For your price range an SHV, used NXS or a Huskemaw would by my choices all having proven turret precision for LR work.
