I am buying a Tikka t3 stainless in 243 for my new coyote/ride around in the pickup rifle. I am going to put a Leupold 3.5-10x40mm that I already have laying around on it. The scope has a fine duplex, so basically my main objective here is a flat shooting yet fairly hard hitting rifle for coyotes. I am thinking an 80 grain Ballistic tip. should fight the wind better than my 22-250 and i should be able to make a 400 yard shot by holding on the spine. Just wondering if any of you have any input, and I am not a hide hunter so I dont care if it rips them in half...in fact I prefer it...:D

I had outstanding luck with the 87grn V-MAX (BC=.400) @ +3100fps out of my .243. Very good bullet, might give it a try.

Im working with a friend on some loads for his 243, going to the range tonight to try 80gr GMX bullets over 49gr of RL25 with a cci 200 primer, I let you know what it looks like. I love lead free bullets for anchoring animals fast!

:D:D:D I hear that, I just picked up some 80 TTSX, I'm going to squirt them out of my 6mmAI....gun)-------------------Can we say >3600FPS??? (or at least I hope)

3600fps?!?! Thats screaming fast! Im hoping to get somewhere around 3200fps in this gun so he can use it for blacktail here in central Ca.

I'm really hoping, but who knows.... I am pushing the 85grn'ers @ ~3500 now so I don't think i'm being optimistic :D
