I've decided to build this one a little different. 300 RUM dedicated to 150 grain projectiles.
Rem 700, 30-inch barrel. Seriously considering HBN bullets and barrel coating. 1:12 twist

I'm just guessing MV in the neighborhood of 3500~~3800 fps.

Are there cup and core bullets that will stay together or should I just consider mono ?
Should I consider a shorter throat than SAAMI ? COAL won't be very long.
What powders to use, quick burn or slow burn ?

Thank you !

I shot the 152 Hammer Hunter in a 28" RUM at 3504 fps with H1000.

This was to fit in an HS DBM at 3.6". It had a 12 twist as well.

Two 300 runs ago i shot 150 ttsx at 3675 fps with RL 26 in a factory rem 700 long range.
It was crazy accurate and would shoot 3" group at 500 yards.

Not too many frangible bullets in 30 cal these days at 3500+fps.
I recall 130's coming apart, but I think they were faulty, the core was slipping in the jacket.

Cheers.

I have a friend who shoots Nosler 150 gr Ballistic Tips out of a 300 Weatherby with a 1-15" twist at 3500+ fps, it's like a lazer beam and drops animals like a lightning strike.
