I just got my new rifle out of the shop.
It´s a 7mm Rem Mag Rem 700 Titanium with a 26" Shilen Select Match Barrel
HS-Presicion Stock
Jewell Trigger
Stainless Steel Obendorf bottom metal
Ken Farrel Picatinny Rail
Seekins 3X3 rings
Vortex Razor HD Scope

It works great. Made my first shots today using 180Gr VLD Bergers. They went out @3130fps and the groups were awesome. Tried it out to 900yds with no problems.

180's @ 3,130 out of a 7mmRM is smokin! Good lookin rifle, and those are some excellent groups, too.

You mind sharing your load data? I just want to compare it to my load data for 180's and 168 VLD's for my 7mmRM's.

I used:
Berger VLD Hunting 180gr
Nosler Brass
CCI 250 Primers
69.5gr H1000
COL 3.353"
Vel 3130fps

Berger VLD Hunting 168gr
Nosler Brass
CCI 250 Primers
70gr H1000
COL 3.353"
Vel 3140fps

It showed slight signs of pressure with the 180´s in 1 every 5 shots. Maybe seating the bullet a little longer will help reducing the pressure. I still have some room to work in that matter without jamming the bullets in the rifling.

Thats' strange how the 168 with .5 gr more powder was only 10 fps faster than the 180...

Have no idea. I use 44gr of IMR 4064 for my .308win with 168 VLD´s and the same 44gr for de 178 A-Max and have similar results only 10-15fps increase with the lighter bullets.

It's odd that you're getting that velocity from a 26" bbl with 69.5 grains of H1000 in soft Nosler brass. I've seen some fast barrels but running 200 fps over what your load should produce is unbelievable. Very nice rig though.

I'm using that velocity in my ballistic calculator and hits dead center out to 900yds. I'll make some tests next week out to 1200-1500yds and see what happens. I'm using a chrony model alpha to check my velocities.

I went to the range this morning and shot this group.

I have a dilema... To bed or not to bed the stock. It shoots great just like that so I don't know if bedding will help at all

What a beautiful rifle - really nice combination of components and clearly well-put-together. Also, some excellent shooting!!! Just because some has a nice ink pen doesn't mean they can write a good story - it takes skill to get performance out of anything....

The following responses are the best advice anyone could offer.

I'd leave it as is, I don't think you will gain much.

If it will consistently shoot bugholes (like the last group you posted), don't touch it!

Yep, now that your shootin' iron is all set, work on scouting, fitness and getting ready to fill your freezer!!!
