This rifle started out as a savage 116 300WM. After I got it from a friend I immediately decided to build something better out of it. Another friend was getting ready to do a build on a savage action as well so that made it easy for both of us. We decided on the caliber and ordered 2 29" muzzle broke mcgowen barrels chambered in 7RM. Every order done was just times 2. Except for the finish of the action and the scope they are the same. I came across a steal on a vortex viper pst and he ordered a hr lr. The first pic is of my rifle right after headspacing and putting the new choate stock on. The second is after mounting rhe scope and the last is my 8year old son trying to convince me it fits him so he should be the first one to shoot it.

Thats a great looking rig. I can see why your son wants to be the first behind the trigger, cant say I blame him there:rolleyes: What loads are you planning to shoot? Please make sure to post range results. I'm sure you and your friend could have some fun with those twins gun)

Thanks for the reply. I am wanting to use either 180gr Sierra mathkings or 180gr berger hybrids. So far I have been having some issues with finding a load. Here is a picture of my buddies average goup while doing load development. His load is 70gr of h1000 ignited by a fed match mag primer pushing a 180gr smk out the barrel at 3070fps.
