Mid Range Scope

just demoed and athlon argos 8-34. was 2 2 5 from amazon. took it all the way out to 1 mile. was it awesome? no but if i was on a tight budget i would totally rock the crap out of it. just finished a demo on the discovery optics xed 6-36 . 6 0 0 amazon. took it out to 1 mile. gets my vote also. waiting for a dnt the one to demo. another 6 0 0 amazon. then after that i am on the list to demo the vector continental 6x36 8 0 0 ish. the xed was definitely a viable scope for the price point and would buy it. i expect the same from the dnt and the vector.

demoed the dnt over the weekend and it wasn't to shabby. i would buy it. my only complaint would be that the zero stop and turrets locking with the little allen screws is kinda a pita. and it doesn't come with nuttin but the scope. while target clarity was acceptable it did not have enough down adjustment for me to zero at 100. so of the 3 scopes i have demoed over the past month here is my personal ranking. low cost the athlon argos at about 225 and will get you out to 1 mile but the eye box is super tight at max mag. of the 2 in the 650 range, my nod goes to the discovery optics XED 6x36. here is why. the turret cap system is truly toolless though you do need an allen for the zero stop which is just simple ring. the scope had enough down for me to zero at 100. the glass was better than my vortex strike eagle and at max mag eye box was small but about the same as my vortex. AND the xed comes with literally everything you need. the dnt did not. i had to rob the rings from my strike eagle. the dnt was a close 2nd and would be a coin toss if it came with everything. there is a gen 2 xed coming and i am waiting to demo it. some upgrades include a light that shines on the turrets for low light conditions and an internal led level!!! heck ya. my next demo will be the vector optics continental 6x36. will be a couple weeks though. i am not an influencer just a guy so i have to buy with mine and my wifes money. hope this helps someone.
