Mid range scope for a 5R

Looking at getting a Remington 5R in 308 for deer hunting and some range time. Something that would be good for 50 to 700 meters. I am new to scopes but not to rifles (USMC 1990-1996). something under a grand would be nice too. Thanks for your time Brad

I am very pleased with a Meopta Meostar in 4-16x44.

bradtrader, I actually have a Rem. 700, 5R. I recently took off my NXS 5.5-22x50, & replaced it with a Vortex Viper HS-T 4-16x44. The HS-T seems to be a nice match to the 5R, at least so far. I've not took it out long range yet, But, I think the Vortex will work just fine. Only reason I took the Nightforce off was to put it on a long range Savage 260.
I don't think you'd be disappointed with the HS-T. Idaho 5R
