Lots of People like to bash brands.

Test data saying that the Marine Corps uses other stuff besides Leupold?

I don't know why he keeps referencing the military. Since when were they the end all be all for good decisions and using good products? Anyone remember the SCAR? How about the FY22 raptor? Comanche? They always tout the latest and greatest and then dump it like an old girlfriend after prom night.

"The USMC uses nightforce, S&B, and tangent theta. Leupold is still around because of army contracts and people who don't care about Improvement in tech and settle for anything because they don't know any better. And on top of that most people aren't using their stuff enough to know their system the good or bad."

I assume you have military test data to support your claims about Leupold ?

May I assume that YOU own all scopes currently in use by our military and have run side by side optical tests using accepted mil-spec proceedures ?

Guess you missed this ? https://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2020/3/12/us-army-chooses-leupold-mark-5hd-for-sniper-use/ note the date !

The only optics experts I have found on the internet are on the SWFA sponsored site.
I'am trying to comprehend the stupidity of this line of questions.

The regular army isn't going to pick the best, they are going to pick the cheapest thing that passes the test.

I'm certainly NOT in charge here my friend. Just after reading your negative-condescending comments, plus seeing that you are a member here for only 13 days, I wonder why you persist in posting if you think that you can't get any useful info here? It seems as though you are just looking for a fight.

That's the reason I asked, "If you feel that way then why don't you just go away." Why stay and banter with guys that you feel are benighted you?

Maybe you would get along better on a different forum where the "cool-operator types" are. They have cool beards like Bradley Cooper had on "American Sniper" and you can talk about what's the best knife to have in the right front pocket of your 511 pants. You can't be an "Operator" unless you wear that stuff! Even if you were never in the service or in combat, you might get by some of the more naive types at the range. Make sure that you also say that you use the term "Running" as in "I am running Speer Gold Dots in my 1911 right now." I don't know where "Running" came from but it seems as though all of the Operators are saying it nowadays so I would too if I were you.

ANYWAY....no freakin' skin off my nose either way....actually, I enjoy it when guys like you sound off and say the things that you like to say. It reminds me that there are guys like you out there.
America sniper used a nightforce nxs most of the time, just saying.

Will16 just because you seen it in a movie doesn't make it real. I'll ask my son in law what's on his and see what he says. He just finished military swat training also. I didn't even know they had that.

It is too early for beer and popcorn, but I am ready! Mouthbreather is on my mind.

No Sir, it is NOT!

It was a joke reflecting the dumb comments about the military. And no it wasn't from the move I read his book, it happened to have a picture in it of his .338 Lapua set up.

+1!

It's because he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Same with people and Police Departments and the equipment that they choose. Take Glock for example. Something like 70% of US police departments issue Glocks to their officers. Is it because Glock is so much "BETTER" than every other brand....NO!. First off, Mr. Glock's timing was PERFECT in the sense that he just happened to come out with his revolutionary new pistol at the exact same time when police across the USA where beginning to switch over to semi-auto's from 100 year old technology, 6 shot, slow to reload, revolvers.
Compared to the other semi-auto's, Glocks were new and exciting but most of all simple to operate.....essentially they were a 16 shot revolver with no controls other than a trigger and magazine release.....not even the slide release mattered, since we were taught to slingshot the slide to chamber a round. So budget wise it was CHEAP and FAST to train new recruits. Also while S&W, SIG, and Beretta were trying to woo police dept's with their own guns, Glock came in at 1/2 the price of them all....SOLD!

Personally, I happen to think that Glock is the "best" defensive pistol out there for the AVERAGE SHOOTER, and I do carry one myself exclusively BUT is it the BEST.....maybe yes or maybe no. That's the biggest debate in the world because there are so many other pistols out there that are in the same league that do everything that a Glock can do......reliably fire and re chamber a round, and put rounds on target accurately......that's what it all boils down to in the end.

So what is the point of my long winded Glock dissertation LOL. Just to give our friend here an example of why the Military and/or Police do what they so and choose the equipment that they choose...that it isn't always that they choose what's BEST, as there are many factors that go into their choices.
