Soooo. Has the op gotten his proof yet or what?
Well after 15 pages If I recall correctly 2 people posted an answer to my quest.
Ha Ha I guess thats the way it is on these forums lots of opinions!
Many of the opinions I find useful. Most I think are a bunch of BS!
As for one of the side topics on this thread. Glass quality and where its made.
From my personal experience optical quality is very very user subjective.
My opinion on that subject is the only way for a person to make a decision on what the best is, is to try every brand possible then pick what looks best to their eyes.

"There are very few real experts on optics and they don't reside here -------

If that's how you feel then why don't you go away?"

I missed the part where you were in charge,

"The USMC uses nightforce, S&B, and tangent theta. Leupold is still around because of army contracts and people who don't care about Improvement in tech and settle for anything because they don't know any better. And on top of that most people aren't using their stuff enough to know their system the good or bad."

I assume you have military test data to support your claims about Leupold ?

May I assume that YOU own all scopes currently in use by our military and have run side by side optical tests using accepted mil-spec proceedures ?

Guess you missed this ? https://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2020/3/12/us-army-chooses-leupold-mark-5hd-for-sniper-use/ note the date !

The only optics experts I have found on the internet are on the SWFA sponsored site.

I'm certainly NOT in charge here my friend. Just after reading your negative-condescending comments, plus seeing that you are a member here for only 13 days, I wonder why you persist in posting if you think that you can't get any useful info here? It seems as though you are just looking for a fight.

That's the reason I asked, "If you feel that way then why don't you just go away." Why stay and banter with guys that you feel are benighted you?

Maybe you would get along better on a different forum where the "cool-operator types" are. They have cool beards like Bradley Cooper had on "American Sniper" and you can talk about what's the best knife to have in the right front pocket of your 511 pants. You can't be an "Operator" unless you wear that stuff! Even if you were never in the service or in combat, you might get by some of the more naive types at the range. Make sure that you also say that you use the term "Running" as in "I am running Speer Gold Dots in my 1911 right now." I don't know where "Running" came from but it seems as though all of the Operators are saying it nowadays so I would too if I were you.

ANYWAY....no freakin' skin off my nose either way....actually, I enjoy it when guys like you sound off and say the things that you like to say. It reminds me that there are guys like you out there.

Test data saying that the Marine Corps uses other stuff besides Leupold?
