I currently shoot a 26" barrel 30-06, and am looking at using a different bullet then what Im currently shooting. Right now I shoot a 200gr Accubond, but I don't like its performance down range. Im looking at trying one of the Berger VLD's in 185,190, or 210 grains. Which of those would you guys suggest using? If it helps I have shot the 208 Amax at 2678fps out of this gun before. Thanks.

I have too switched loads and went with 51gr Varget shooting 168 Berger VLD hunting bullets and had great results with accuracy and down range punch. Took two buck and 4 hogs with it this season and all were Bang Flop from 98yds to 436 yds.

Yes my rifle is a 1 in 10 twist. I would like to be able to hunt as far as possible with this rifle since a new one is not in the budget currently. Where I would be shooting the longest distances are when I am elk and mule deer hunting out side of Durango co where 900+ yard shots are possible with the right rifle and load. At home I shoot to 1000 on a regular basis at the range.

If you got 2678 fps from the 208's and hunt elk I would be looking at the 215 Hybrids to stretch it out. The short bearing surface just might get some good velocity. They are hard to find right now but some should be surfacing before too long. I would be ordering direct from Berger if I wanted more.

I really like the way they worked for me best from 2400 down to 1700 for impact velocity. Have not shot anything with them impacting much below 1675 fps.

Berger 210 VLDs over 60gr RL22 shot very well from my 1/10 30-06. I went to the 208 AMax for pricing, but the 210 is excellent.

The 215gr Hybrid should work well too, and bank some extra BC.

I took the 210 way past 1000 yards with great accuracy. I only have results on paper at 100 yards to share, but they give you an idea..

Here's a couple 3-shot groups,

Here's a postal match, 100 yd 3-shot target,
