Load Data for 6.5-284 with 137gr HH

Made it to the range yesterday, and shot the 137s out to 1100. They shot very well. Interestingly, they required very little adjustment from my previous zero with the 142 ABLR. Also found it a little fascinating that when I ran the numbers and shot for the ballistic chart output from my ballistic calculator, I was getting consistent misses about 1.5 minutes low from those numbers past 800yds. Tried the holds from the DOPE I had established for the ABLRs, and the 137s shot nearly identical and had consistent hits to 1100. By the end of the session, I was shooting through a full value 10mph crosswind, and wind holds were also very consistent with the ABLRs.

I'm pleased with the results and it's been an interesting and fun little project so far.

I have seen this as well but folks don't believe it when you tell them

My 6.5-284 proof CF 1:7.5 26" supressed with 131 hammer huntersshot all my loads like this when trying to find the speed I was after with RL-23 never got close to pressure, I'd stay away from RL/26 this 23 is way more stable with an ES of 5fps. I haven't sit a deer with them yet but that's what I'm planning g on using this deer season if I ever get off this rig.

Well, the 137s have continued to shoot well for me, and I got my first harvest with them on a mature bull a few days ago. In order to get a shot on him I had to stalk in right on top of him. Shot him twice to be sure at 170ish yards. One bullet passed through, and one got caught under the hide on the opposite side. I found pedals from each bullet caught under the hide that took different routes than the solid base after separating. Damage from each bullet was extensive, and the 2nd shot proved unnecessary, but wanted to make sure he was anchored. Bullet performance was exactly as described, and I like that it appears these bullets will work well from close to long ranges.
