This is the break down of guns . And let's go with the person does not reload
Tikka t3
Savage Axis
Sendero Rem.
T/C. Icon ,venture
Saco A7
Weatherby vanguard
Rem LR

I'm going with 7 mm mag
I'm really wanting a 26 inch barrel but that looks tuff
Stainless would be great . No muzzle break . Clip would work . No wood stock .
Would like to keep build at $1500.00
I just did a build on one and that one took me to $3000 gun $1500 range finder and 1500 in reloading . I don't think a lot of people can do that .
And I'm trying to give back to this forum for all the help

Buds has the Savage 116 for $716
McGowen Custom 26" varmint contour barrel is: $325

The 116 Savage stock is the accustock with aluminum bedding. So it is pretty good.
Savage Accutrigger is hard to beat in a factory action.

This leaves about $450 for some sort of scope.

The thing is this setup gets you a custom aftermarket button rifled barrel. The barrel will probably contribute more to the accuracy of the rifle than anything else you could do for it.

Given the budget I would monitor the classifieds here. With a little time in monitoring the players, one can find fairly often, a custom from a reputable builder, from a reputable buyer taking a loss.

I would not assume the factory offerings available, don't meet the accuracy requirements as is.

Ruger Precision Rifle 243 has a 26" barrel, 6.5 Creedmore has a 24' barrel. 308 has a 20" barrel. They are hard to find and can run anywhere from $900 to $1500. Depends on where you buy it. Plenty of Good Factory ammo. They do shoot great.

If you don't mind toting a slightly hefty rig, or if you hunt mostly in shooting houses or from hilltops with a bipod on the rifle, then this setup would be awesome for your budget...

Remington 700 Long Range 7mmRM - 26" 1:9.25 twist, B&C stock (factory). ($699)
Timney trigger ($150)
EGW HD 0 MOA base ($60)
Seekins Precision 30mm Low rings ($120)
SWFA SS 3-15x42 MilQuad reticle ($559.96 on sale @ SWFA right now)

That leaves me not a lot for scope ?
