What's ironic is if you look at states like Oregon that are making legalizing recreational use of drugs while trying to promote more gun control the drug overdose deaths are higher than firearms deaths. Around twice the amount of firearms deaths. I don't think they are concerned with the lives lost. It's more about the optics.
