planning a trip to Idaho for spring bear we would
like to head back to unit 34. We just have questions on what time frame would be best we could do April 22-may 1st or april29th- may8th. Not sure if there's much difference or if one would be better than another

April is early. I like the last 2 weeks of May better.

You will have a hard time getting anywhere in 34 until end of may

Later the better. We've got good snow so far this year, so it'll be hard to get around this spring.

So the other option would be the last week in May, sounds like that would be the better option. Any other words of advice?

This spring is likely to have some snow until later. We are getting good snow pack so far.
I don't know much about 34. However, any of the larger river canyons in ID will have bears out and about on the south slopes digging sunflower or whatever, looking for elk calves etc.

We did see a few mule deer in 34 last year couple does and on small buck
