I predict that I am going to permanently BAN at least 10 more members very soon for complaining about SELLERS' PRICES.

I'd like to see a minimum amount of postings to any of the sub-forums related to hunting, shooting anything but selling, before you can sell items on LRH.
This requirement seemed to be in place in many gun-related forums since I've been looking up information from 2008. 25-50 post counts before being allowed to sell. In my opinion, make it more. This forum is an easy avenue for non-dedicated sellers to jump in and out just to sell their wares or potentially scam LRH members. There's no interest in what's available to be learned here, just take advantage of easy selling policies. The scamming of products is a concerning issue. A new member with 3 postings on here is a big, red flag in my opinion, trying to sell products, real or not.
Another criticism I have is the posted requirement of a photographic record of items to be sold. I don't see this rule being followed/enforced. When I first joined last summer, it was. Not now.
I agree with just ignoring the sellers with higher pricing that is considered gouging. It's difficult not to make comments, but no response is an answer. Hopefully they fade away.
My exact point of view. Way too easy for non dedicated users to "pop in" ABUSE the forum (members) and then disappear.

I am extremely grateful to have access to LRH to sell gear & components in addition to expounding my ideas regarding shooting.

Please be assured that I will comply with all regulations. In addition, I will strive to provide really good deals & service. I am not in the shooting supply business, being happily retired and have little motivation to harvest considerable financial gain from sales of my modest supply of low-cost items.

On a side note. I believe to keep this site from being another uselse's forum where people only come here to sell is to revise the rules. In my opinion the criteria for selling eligibility is way too low. So, we get what we get.
I am 100% in agreement here, if I am interested in a for sale item, first thing I do is scan that sellers posts, if all for sale posts, I am out.
On the other hand, once the criteria are met, the game resumes, so really the formality becomes a moot point.

We are in some trying times right now, our predictions of where all this ends is more of a WAG than a calculated forecast.

All this said, lol, it is never ok to take a dump on a for sale ad.

I am very new here and new to reloading. I found the site when a search for a reloading press came up here. I started looking at the different topics in the forums and what this site has to offer. I have personally benefited from the generosity of the members on this site whether time, advice, and some have even sent me components FREE of charge to help me out. Which I plan on paying forward.
Unfortunately in the world we live in today we cannot go to our local sorting goods store and pickup the components most of us are looking for and when we do happen to find them the prices are much higher than they used to be. Before I joined this site I even bought a couple of things on GunBroker because it was there and I needed it so I could get started reloading (not a good time to start reloading, but when I can't find ammo either so what do you do). I get why people on this site get upset when you see someone list something higher than what we are currently having to pay when we find it as it is pretty much people helping people. I also get that each of us want to get the most money we can for what we have to sell. That's just human nature. Our stuff is always worth more (LOL) I have seen some of you mention never visiting a website again because of pricing. Len is right, we should not hijack someone's post over what we perceive as price gouging. There may actually be someone on here that really needs that item for sale even at the higher cost. If not, and no one responds they will get the picture because there are not many items posted for sale that do not get some responses to purchase. We do still live in AMERICA and are free to make our own decisions on what we purchase.
Just my $.02 from a Newbie.

Again I want to thank everyone for their knowledge, time and components you have shared with me and I look forward to helping others when I can.

Though it looks like supply in stores is improving, albeit at as much as 2x former retail pricing, I am pessimistic about the trajectory in the next few years. I think those who complain now may look back in a few years and see these exorbitant prices as reasonable, the low prices of the Trump years as halcyon days, and wishing they had the foresight to buy in excess and stack 'em deep.
Found a bottle of RL33 yesterday at the store. I was shocked. Grabbed it without even considering price and discovered it was $47.50 at the register. Checked my powder stash, and the last bottle of RL33 that I saw and bought was from 09/2019 and cost $32.95 (prices sticker still on it).
Interesting times ahead, indeed.

When someone complains about price gouging or being taken advantage of, they are stepping away from the most basic tenet of capitalism. That is a slippery slope that has cost our nation much and whose ultimate conclusion results in Socialism or communism. If you don't like the price, move along. The rule of supply and demand will always take care of itself. There certainly will be some short-term hiccups, but in the long the market will win out and the item will be priced appropriately.

On the flip side, don't complain about people's not buying an item at the price you've set. The old adage in real estate that it is location, location, location is wrong. It's price, price, price- there's always a buyer for an item when the price matches the perceived value to the buyer.

I would like to see a single, controlling list of criteria to sell on this forum. Simple, concise, bullet points that list he do's and don'ts.

This is correct, and because I did not read the rules, I made the mistake of posting on a selling thread basically saying this, and was ridiculed for this.

No doubt, I have no answers.
I do believe that we as a whole confuse want with Need too often and keep digging the hole. Shortages create issues, thank God the price of toilet paper never went up much during that crisis, because all of us laughing at the crazy had more than normal on hand.

I guess i am a little slower than some , I'm-having a hard time understanding something.
I am a couple months into this site and never belonged to but a couple forums, all in the last 2 months .
Have been hunting and handloading for 50 years or more.

I still don't see how to judge people ,based on dedication?
If you have something to sell That is legit or something to say that helps out ,what difference does it make if you are new or an old Timer?

I've never understood the "new guys aren't trustworthy" mentality, either. Even the most trustworthy seller had to have a first time.
I've been on here a long time now and I still provide my phone number, proof of life photos, and offer to take more pics/video and/or facetime with potential buyers.
A little common sense goes a long way in determining if someone is worth dealing with, even if they joined five minutes ago.

Bottom line, please quit griping about pricing
Yes, this site has rules against hijacking thread, which I will follow. But now we can't exercise our basic rights allowed by our constitution of free speech? We cannot speak our displeasure of the housing market and economy going to crap and just need to chalk it up to capitalism?

Yes, I agree .

I've sat on this and not responded to this thread. I'm not going to get into any of the discussion on it but will offer this.

I'd like to APPOLOGISE to Len and Crew.

I feel my contribution to a recent classifieds add was part of what sparked this thread. I stand behind what I said but fully realize I broke the rules. A great part of what I like about this forum and one other in particular is the way it's ran. I let emotions get the best of me and said some things where I should have hit the back button.

While my post was respectful thankfully Len deleted so no need to search for it.

Now back to making some elk sausage... :)
