So, I pulled the drop chart on my 300 WM load. I've read and read and read but I can't reconcile the drop to the MOA on Vortex's ballistic calculator. How in the world do you translate drop to MOA? Am I even thinking about this correctly? I understand that 1.047"/100 and 2.094"/200 are both 1 MOA. What I can't seem to figure out is, if my bullet drops 32.8" at 500 yds, how many MOA (I've got 1/4" MOA clicks) should I click? I'm totally stuck!

1 moa at 500 yards = roughly 5 inches. 5x1.047 = 5.23" to be exact.

32.8" of drop at 500 yards would be: 32.8 divided by 5.23 = 6.27 or round it to 6.25 MOA

on your .25 moa turret that is 25 clicks.

It is easier to just round it out. lets call 32.8 , 33" divide by 5 = 6.6 or 6 and 1/2 moa. But by rounding it you will be 1/4 moa off which would equal 1.3" at 500 yards.

You are welcome. I added some to the post. Hope I didn't make it confusing.:)

Not at all confusing. Like I said, I just needed a little push in the right direction. I was making it WAY harder than it needed to be. I've totally got it. Now, if I can just learn how not to shake. Thanks a lot.
