Hydrostatic shock?

I will send you a picture, but you don't have to have them in a head gate if your a good hunter and can shoot! It make no difference if it is a FMJ or expanding bullet if it is directly into the CNS. Just enough energy to get there.
I've seen a lot of hunters against headshots because of missing the killshot and just wounding the animal. One person saw a buck walking around missing it's lower jaw and just waiting to die his slow painful death.

I have seen a lot of deer gut shot or missing a front or rear leg just waiting to die his slow painful death. Poor shooting is poor shooting. I don't recommend head or neck shots to anyone. I don't even like high shoulder. liquefied lungs kill faster than pencil hole lungs.

Yeah the direct hit to the central nervous system defiantly eliminates the need for this tread.

It could be interpreted as you advocating for a headshot, and that good hunters would be able to pull it off.

I guess if you try hard enough you could turn "I don't recommend head shots" or even like high shoulder shots as advocating for CNS shots.
 
When I was 14-15 years old, I shot a buck probably 160-170lbs behind the shoulder, all ribs and lungs. No shoulder, no spine, no guts.

It was my first real rifle, 25/06 Rem with a 100gr old style ballistic tips at what I can promise was maximum knowing my Dad.

The deer was standing with his head up at the shot, collapsed instantly and never kicked or moved.

Was it energy transfer? Hydrostatic shock? Withcraft?
All I can say for sure, it wasn't oxygen depleted blood, a loss of blood, or dain bramage.
Not all of them do the same of course…but!

Great paper by an MIT PhD and a Harvard PhD on hydrostatic shock. Talks about actual Ft lbs, Pressure waves in the vitals, shock to the brain and spinal cord, and stated ballistic pressure waves move at the speed of sound in the body.

Energy is your friend concerning sheer route force.
Weight and speed combined keep wind and drop effects minimized as long as possible, along with high BC.
I guess thats a simple way of stating it.?

I guess you could compare a 245LRHT at 3100 to some pill that is smaller and slower. Big bullets, moving fast stay on track better I suppose?

Maybe. Not sure I have ever heard it explained that way.

It's more about weight, speed, mass and sectional density at impact. Then bullet construction and design.
