Hornady 180 ELD on game?

One bull elk. 602 yards. 3109 FPS MV broadside. DRT

??? What BC are you guys using? I am running .3512 G7 with a 8 TW when I go past 800 yards.

I am told the ABS curve is at .360 G7
In running a .390 g7 at 1000 and at 1357 I had to adjust to a .360. I'm running a 9.25 twist at 2958 fps. Im assuming the reason my bc fell off is I'm probably on the edge of stability. But it shoots very well. That velocity was from a magnetospeed

28 Nosler. Bullet at 3100 fps
The heaviest Hornady ELD-X for your .280 is their 150 grain. That cartridge has the ability to be loaded to velocities that would result in impact velocities well above my recommended limit of 2800fps. However, I note that the published Velocity for Hornady factory loaded Precision Hunter is 2763fps at 100 yds. I'd have confidence in this load for elk for sure. Great recipe.

Hornady makes a .284 175 grain eldx and a 162.
