And yet the usps lost the item. And yet myself and another member on here have experienced the usps losing packages only to have them show up months late. And yet another member on here has had painful experiences dealing with trying to get the usps to pay the insurance in cases where the item delivered was damaged. It would have been worse had the item never showed. So yes, seriously.Seriously......I've bought many expensive items from members here....had them all sent usps...to a local office....
General Delivery....with tracking...priority mail....nothing lost..........usually delivered on time or ahead of delivery date....
I almost forgot. Back in 2010, my brother decided to move back to the lower 48 from Alaska. He had around 23 rifles that he needed to ship. The usps was the only carrier that did not require an FFL as long as he mailed the rifles to himself. He paid to insure them and track them and shipped them through the usps. Within 2 weeks, the rifles started arriving. After a month, most had arrived. He had tracking on the remaining but the usps tracking system at that time was a joke. They had no idea where they were. They told him to come back in a month if he still had not gotten them. He came back a month later and filled out the insurance claim paperwork. They told him they would need receipts for the rifles to prove their value and he would need pictures of the rifles in the cases in which they were shipped. Not all of the rifles were purchased from dealers so he did not have all the receipts and he did not know he had to take pictures of the rifles. He did have serial numbers. They basically told him they would not pay him anything. Fortunately, over the next month or so, the remaining rifles arrived.
So again, yes, seriously.
