If you like your Uncle's rifle why not keep it and rebarrel it to a common cartridge so you can buy ammo? Then it is still in the family.

Or have family or friends load for the OP.

It has a 1:14 twist. Redding can make the dies but I have zero experience reloading and zero equipment to do it.

This is where a mentor comes into being a part of the solution.

Go to a local shooting range, watch and learn then ask around about a shooter who would be interested in mentoring a new reloader. This can also be accomplished by posting in these forums, asking about someone to help with mentoring a new reloader. Finding someone willing to help AND is in your area of the country can be challenging.

I'm with you, but I think my uncle would be unhappy if he knew I rebarrelled it. I have a few other rifles of his. For the cost I'm not sure it's worth buying all the equipment to reload one caliber. I currently shoot his 7mm mag Husqvarna m9000. Thanks for the info.
