Does anyone have a favorite load that works well on hogs and whitetail deer? If you do could you share it or suggest a site where it is listed.

thanks for the help

Did you mean .30/06?? I use 56.5g of Reloder 17 behind a 168g Lapua Scenar. Have had real nice results with this combo from 65 yards out to 470 yards all DRT. This is pretty close to a max load in my rifle, so start low and approach with care. Sorry if this isn't what your looking for. YMMV

Re: favorite load 30-06

Yes my mistake. Anyway that is what I am looking for. I may get a chance to do a bit of hog hunting in Florida this winter. I would like to be able to load for whitetail and hog rather than a bunch of different special loads sitting around.

I havn't loaded for the 06 yet. So I will need primer, powder and bullet. This leaves me open to almost any load.

I'll try to change the title.

thanks

Powder: imr4350
bullet: 185gr berger vld
charge: 56.2 gr
primer: fed 210 LR
Brass: winchester nickel plate

this load knocks them dead out to 800yds in my remmy 700 24" barrel 2900fps @ 7000' of elevation. I have theses seated 15 thousenths off the lands 1/2 moa groups all day. this is a pretty stout load but no pressure signs but definetly work up to it

This is my go to hunting load for my 06.

180 grain Swift Scirroco II- 0.02" off lands
54.5 grains IMR 4350
Federal GM LR Primer
WW-Brass

My other load is:

180 Sierra SBT - Set at standard COAL
54.6 grains IMR 4350
Winchester LR primer
Any brass

I use this one the mostly for practice since the bullets are 1/2 the price.

Both loads shoot 1/2 moa out of my rifle.

I'm rather fond of my maxed out loads with multiple bullets. My 30.06 just isn't very picky and I'm thankful!

Re22/180 Scirocco
Re22/200 Accubond
IMR4064/180 Barnes TSX
IMR4064/180 Speer spitzer
Varget/185 Berger VLD

BTW, I've killed a handful of blackbears with that 180 Scirocco. It's an unbelievable bullet, one of, if not THE best bonded bullet available by large commercial bullet makers. In fact, I first loaded them in 2004 and forgot all about the fact that I loaded 200 of them with Federal brass. Just found them beneath my load bench this past weekend.

Who has the best price on bullets? I checked my normal places but they don't carry 30-06 or 308 diam.
Please advise what "normal" place does not stock a 30 caliber bullet?

I buy from powder valley inc., southern shooters supply, or locally at Bass Pro.
