Encore 338-378?????

Thought I might pick your brains. I am wanting to put together a long range setup and have decided on the 338-378. I have a line on a 28" 338 win mag barrel for my encore thats in really good shape. My first question is the encore frame stout enought to handle it? Second can I have a 338 win mag reamed to 338-378 and is it something I can do myself or do I need to have a gunsmith do it. Thanks

It won't work. The frame isn't strong enough, the barrel isn't thick enough, and the extractor wouldn't work either.

Just a note: The 338 Win Mag is plenty, and a hand full in lighter rifles so I would try it.

The 338 RUM would be possible , But I would not open the barrel any more than it already is.

Okay thanks guys looks like I will try to find something else as I already have a ruger in 338 win mag.
