ELDX 6.5 vs Antelope

First kill with the 143 ELDX.
MV of 3086 out of a 6.5 SAUM
317 yards broadside, impact velocity around 2740 FPS.
The bullet impacted low to mid shoulder and shattered the bone into hundreds of tiny pieces. About 80% of the shoulder meat was ruined.
No exit at all not even fragments.
The antelope went about 20 yards and flipped over dead. Small slits in heart and lungs from bullet and bone shrapnel.
Not too impressed but dead is dead so it did its job.
I'll try to get some pics of both sides of the shoulder.

Definitely worked but would liked to have seen a little more penetration with the bullet core.

Dead is dead, but thought you would have seen more penetration from what Hornady claims is possible.

We get more penetration from Berger varmint bullets in our 22-250's on shoulder shot goats.

You'd almost think that was a berger hunting vld, only running 20 yards is pretty darn good performance in my book.

Sounds like this is a direct shoulder hit. Shot placement is everything!

Maybe a hit in the crease of shoulder and between the ribs is what's needed to perform like a Berger.
