Did Sierra change the 6.5mm 142gr Matchking

Hey,

I don't know if anyone has noticed but Sierra changed the BC on the 142gr matchkings. My Sierra manual says they have a max BC of .595 but online it now says .624. Does anyone know why?

I know at some point they started closing the meplats, like you would with a whidden pointing die.

This would have had to have happened in the past 6 months.

I have encountered several bullet manufacturers changing their bullet without any announcement. Twice I had a great load and ran low on bullets to find when I loaded the new ones the rifle shoot terribly. After checking every aspect of a rifle over several range sessions I called to find out that was the case. Had to redevelop the load.

When that happened I decided to call all the manufacturers and ask if they change their bullets from time to time. Sierra said if they did they would assign a different number to the product. This was very refreshing news.

I know that was the long way around to get to the point. Check the product number, if it is the same then the bullet is the same.
